If you are an art director, a graphic designer, a web designer or an advertising or marketing creative based in India, then this camp is for you!
Type Camp Mumbai is an educational and professional training event that will strengthen your typography. We dedicate five full days in the heart of this international city to discussions, projects, visits, talks, and workshops, that are all focused on typography.
Experienced instructors will share their professional processes and typographic knowledge with you to help you to become a better typographer and a better designer. Each day features up to seven hours of practical seminars and hands-on workshops that cover letterform structure, typeface selection, visual context, typesetting techniques, and more. All projects will include typography in English and Indic scripts as well as modern bilingual typesetting concerns and technologies.
Our instructors will assist you with your current projects, analyse your past projects, and help you plan for your future projects, all within the widening realm of typography and design.
The teaching team for Type Camp Mumbai 2012 is Art Director for India’s Tara Books and Head of Design & Interaction at Central St Martins in London, Dr Rathna Ramanathan; 2010 Gutenberg Award winner and honoured instructor from the National Institute of Design Professor Mahendra Patel; and Type Camp founder and international typography educator and writer, Dr Shelley Gruendler.
Please note that unlike our Type Camp India in Chennai, this is a day camp for residents of India only. Please note that registration is limited to 24 in order to guarantee sufficient individual attention.
The price for this professional training camp is Rs. 46,000
which is payable in advance by bank transfer by 15 December, 2011. Please contact us for payment options and details.
This includes all teaching tuition, lunch each day, all morning and afternoon snacks, and all design supplies. It does not include additional meals, housing, or transportation to and from Mumbai.
This camp will take place in Central Mumbai.
